Skiing in Valtellina in short

There is no single Valtellina lift pass. Each area sells its own pass, and the areas around Bormio are linked by a ski bus, not by one connected slope network. The kilometer figures below are nominal sizes from the operators and the local portals. They do not tell you how many kilometers are open on a given day.

All prices are for the 2026/27 winter and in euros. Online prices are often dynamic, so the price you pay can differ from the examples. Check the dates, because most areas price by period.

Bormio ski resort and Santa Caterina

Three areas, one pass system, a ski bus in between.

The Bormio group has 50 km at Bormio, 35 km at Santa Caterina and 25 km at Cima Piazzi-San Colombano, 110 km in all. The areas are linked by ski bus, which is free for pass holders. They do not form one connected network.

The sample day price for 19 to 25 December 2026, 9 to 29 January 2027 and 30 March to 11 April 2027 is €59 for adults, €30 for juniors and €58 for seniors. Santa Caterina has the same day prices. Day and four-hour tickets are valid only in the area where you buy them. Multi-day tickets from two days are valid across the areas.

Junior is born 2011 to 2018, and senior is born 1962 or earlier. Children born 2019 or later ski free with an adult full-price pass of the same length, one child per adult. The operator advertises online savings of up to 25 percent. The planned winter runs from 4 December 2026 to 11 April 2027, which is a plan and not a snow guarantee.

A six-day adult pass costs €258.50, €331 or €374.50 in the special, season and high periods. For juniors it is €129.50, €165.50 or €187. The 115 km figure is for the whole of Livigno. Its slopes sit on two mountain sides, Carosello and Mottolino, and you should not add the figure per side.

The "Skipass Free" offer is tied to a stay: at least 4 ski days with 5 hotel nights, or 6 ski days with 7 apartment nights. It is not a free lift for everyone. The end of the offer is given as 18 or 19 December 2026, depending on the page. For the town, the duty-free rules and the roads, see the Livigno guide.

Aprica, Madesimo and Valmalenco

Smaller areas, each with its own pass.

Aprica

The local portal gives 50 km. The maximum day prices for 2026/27 are €53 in the lower season and €59 in the higher season for adults, with €49 and €54 for seniors and €42 and €46 for juniors. The higher season includes 5 to 8 December 2026, 25 December 2026 to 6 January 2027, 30 January to 7 March 2027, 27 to 29 March 2027 and all Saturdays and Sundays. An evening ticket costs €26 for adults. Online discounts of up to 30 percent are possible.

Madesimo

The operator lists the runs Caurga, Caurga 2 and Reno Val di Lei as seasonally closed in 2026/27, so earlier total kilometer figures do not apply. Lifts run on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on weekends and holidays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The season ends on 4 April 2027. A season pass costs €789 in presale until 1 November 2026, and €877 at the list price.

Valmalenco

An Italian portal gives 50 km at Alpe PalΓΉ. An English overview gives over 60 km including Caspoggio. The two figures describe different scopes, so do not add them. Check the current pass prices with the operator.

How to choose an area

Four questions that decide it.

Do you want baths after skiing?

Bormio is the base for it. See the Bormio thermal baths.

Do you want the largest area?

Livigno gives the largest nominal figure, 115 km. Compare it with the 110 km of the Bormio group, which are split into three areas.

Are you coming at a quiet time?

Livigno's lowest prices fall in late November to mid-December and in April, and Aprica's lower season excludes weekends. Check the period before you book.

When does the snow come?

Operators publish planned dates, not guarantees. The weather page has the seasonal rules.
